How to use your broken smartphone from a PC

Unfortunately, smashing the screen of your precious smartphone, whether a brand new Galaxy S5or an older device like the Nexus 4, is a common and very sad occurrence, whether you let it fall on a cement floor or it it has collided with something in your bag. If this has happened to you and you’ve gotten the famous ‘spider-man app’ on the unresponsive touchscreen as some call it, you don’t have to say goodbye to your device yet, because you can use and export your data from your broken smartphone to your PC. Here's how!

Whether your screen is completely damaged or it just stays black and unresponsive, this means that you might have to live with a loss of data. Thankfully, a member over at the XDA developer forum came up with a useful tool that will let you control your device right from a Windows computer. From your desktop, you can see your SMS text messages, photos, and anything else stored in your phone’s memory, and then subsequently copy them to your PC.

If your smartphone has a broken screen and the touchscreen doesn’t work anymore, head over to the XDA forum to find out more about the implications of the useful tool and download it directly from there.
